Warning: The originals photos, texts, films, music, etc ... of the period previous to 1921 year -see the Act of the US Congress about it - have no copyright and belong to the public domain. However, those same pictures, I process this blog, when I restore and paint the pictures, then the right of modification is produced, ie that are protected by full copyright law, in this case mine. Of course there are many more laws in the world, declared in the public domain photographs (which is the topic at hand), in very later dates to the aforementioned (Example: WWII, Korea, etc ...) .

A British R.N.A.S. Talbot Type-2 Armoured Car, next to the Ghent City Hall. Early October 1914.

A British R.N.A.S. Talbot Type-2 Armoured Car, next to the Ghent City Hall.
Early October 1914 (*).

Obvious improvements to this modified Type-2 model, made over the original Type-1 models, are the replacement of the large rectangular front plate, which made it difficult for the driver to see, by a double front door.

The opening and closing of the doors was activated by the driver by a system of rods.

As the replaced front plate provided some protection for the driver and crew, Type-2 vehicles were provided with a small, sloped, wraparound armor plating at the end of the vehicle hood, which provided additional protection for the crews.

It would not be until the immediate appearance of the Type-3, that the driver and crew had adequate protection.

(*)- The city of Ghent was occupied by the Germans on October 12, 1914.
