The Australian Renault Machine Gun Car Model 1914 was the first, or one of the earliest Australian armed vehicles from the First World War. He was armed with a Maxim machine gun.

The company that provided the Renault car to the army was the car import company "Canada Cycle and Motor Agency" of Brisbane, Queensland.
In the caption of:
THE ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS. Dec. 12. 1914.-pag-828
The following text reads:
A PATRIOTIC GIFT TO THE QUEENSLAND SECTION OF THE AUSTRALIAN FORCE: A RENAULT CAR ARMED WITH A MACHINE-GUN, AT BRISBANE.
This fine armed car was presented by the Canada Cycle and Motor Agenry, of Brisbane, to the Queensland section of the Australian Expeditionary Force. The chassis is a Renault, and the body was specially built for carryinfg to machine-gun. The boxes round the sides of the platform are for ammunition and spare parts of the gun. The Australian force recently landed in Egypt.

On 19 June 2019, I am giving a free public lecture about the company that built the 1914 machine gun carrier. I would like to use your image in the powerpoint slideshow accompanying the talk.
The talk will be filmed by the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) and the slides interspersed into a video the SLQ will make publicly available on its website. This will be freely available to anyone searching the SLQ website.
So, under those circumstances, I’m asking whether you would give your permission for me to use the colourised image in this manner. If you do not wish me to include the image, that is fine – I will use the one published in the Illustrated London News.
Please let me know your decision, either way.
