His story begins with the commission of the Canadian government to the American house of automobiles Packard, of three armored cars with turret, destined to the second contingent of Canadian armored cars, and whose destiny has been, until now, at least enigmatic.

[K-Zugflak = Antiaircraft Artillery Section]

The name K-Zugflak used by the Germans, meant that the 8.8-cm Rheinmetall Gun (and also the "88" of the Krupp brand), constituted, it only, a Section (Zug) of anti-aircraft artillery (Flak) . From the middle of 1916, two Flak sections, each composed of a single cannon, formed an antiaircraft artillery battery. This organization of a battery, composed only of two Flak guns, was also applied to the units formed by motorized antiaircraft vehicles, as were the following models:

Daimler-Krupp 7,7-cm L/27 K-Flak 14
Ehrhardt-Rheinmetall 7,7-cm L/27 K-Flak 14
Ehrhardt-Henschel 7.62-cm L/30 K-Flak 17
Ehrhardt-Henschel 7.62-cm L/31.5 K-Flak 18

As well as some other motorized models, both hybrids as old models before the war or captured the enemy.

The conventional batteries of antiaircraft artillery hipomobile (normally towed by horses), continued maintaining until the end of the war, the classic structure of four antiaircraft guns. Each battery was made up of two sections, and each section composed of two Flak guns. 

NOTE: It is possible that the model of the photograph is the 8.8-cm Rheinmetall model of 1917 and not the 1916 model. The 1916 and 1917 models hardly show any discernible differences. The same applies to Krupp models of 8-cm and 8.8-cm, hardly identifiable.

La denominación K-Zugflak usada por los alemanes, significaba que el cañón de 8,8-cm Rheinmetall (y también los "88" de la marca Krupp), constituía, él sólo, una Sección (Zug) de artillería antiaérea (Flak). Desde mediados de 1916, dos secciones Flak, compuestas cada una de un único cañón, formaban una Batería de artillería antiaérea. Esta organización de una batería, compuesta únicamente de dos cañones Flak, también se aplicó a las unidades formadas por vehículos motorizados antiaéreos, como fueron los siguientes modelos:

Así como algunos otros modelos motorizados, tanto híbridos como viejos modelos anteriores a la guerra o bien capturados al enemigo.

Las baterías convencionales de artillería antiaérea hipomóviles (normalmente remolcadas por caballos), continuaron manteniendo hasta el final de la guerra, la estructura clásica de cuatro cañones antiaéreos. Cada batería estaba formada por dos secciones, y cada sección compuesta de dos cañones Flak.

NOTA: Es posible que el modelo de la fotografía sea el Modelo de 8,8-cm Rheinmetall de 1917 y no el Modelo 1916. Los modelos 1916 y 1917 apenas presentan diferencias perceptibles. Lo mismo ocurre con los modelos Krupp de 8-cm y 8,8-cm, difícilmente identificables.
