Warning: The originals photos, texts, films, music, etc ... of the period previous to 1921 year -see the Act of the US Congress about it - have no copyright and belong to the public domain. However, those same pictures, I process this blog, when I restore and paint the pictures, then the right of modification is produced, ie that are protected by full copyright law, in this case mine. Of course there are many more laws in the world, declared in the public domain photographs (which is the topic at hand), in very later dates to the aforementioned (Example: WWII, Korea, etc ...) .

Renault Armored Car (Auto-Mitrailleuse) M1914 (First-delivery).

Note on French Renault Armored Car M1914 in Russia.

Forty of this Renault Armored Car Model 1914 were acquired by the Russian government in France in 1914, during the first months of the war. Later they were sent to Russia stepwise, removed and without weapons. The Russians called "Renault Box" ('Reno Box'), by the characteristic shape of a box (open) of the vehicle combat chamber. Given the scarce thickness of armor (4-mm.) of this 1914 model (French solved the problem creating the new model in 1915, with thicker armor and different design), the Russians used sparsely in the armored formations of first line. Mainly were used in security tasks and escort of motorized supply columns, etc. They were also used as armored vehicles for the transport of ammunition near the frontline areas. They were also used (especially the chassis) as the basis for creating new designs and transformations that derived in the appearance of new armored vehicles, this time Russians.

  1. Hello friend Phil,

Thank you very much for your kind comment. The picture I publish this Renault M1914 Armored Car is the result of mixing two similar pictures. A low quality, which I used for the background and the other, excellent quality but lacking in background. This armored car is one of the first models produced by Renault in October 1914. These models the "first delivery" is recognized, among other features, lacking front armor plate, located in the crank handle engine. Plaque does appear in subsequent deliveries.

    Regards,

    Hola amigo Phil,

    Saludos,

    Jose
